In her practice and everyday life, Van believes in honesty, kindness, gentleness, and faithfulness.

Van sees her role as a therapist who helps guide her clients through a process of renewing their minds by exploring the meaning of their thoughts, feelings and behaviors so that they may be able to find satisfaction, hope, peace and joy.

In her clinical practice, Van primarily works with young adolescents and adults seeking help with anxiety and depression, addiction, relationship issues, conflicts in school or work, as well as self-esteem.

Van has experience working in a variety of areas including: mood problems, fostering children/adoption, children with autism, addiction, severe mental illnesses, and emotional trauma such as neglect and abandonment.

Van earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology at Palo Alto University where she has also participated in advanced techniques of Cognitive Therapy-TEAM-CBT at Stanford University. She has provided mental health support in the community serving the underprivileged, criminal justice system, severe mental illness population and members of her local church.

Van is a Christian and an active member at her local church. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, eating, reading and hiking.
