Feeling Good Wellness Center was founded to promote an evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help our patients achieve their optimal mental and physical health. We are dedicated to guiding our patients from illness to health.
We started with a vision to establish centers of psychotherapy to bring quality mental healthcare to local communities through direct services and educational programs for the public and the professional community.
In 2014, the first center was opened in Silicon Valley in Fremont, California. Four years later, a second center would open in the seaside city of Santa Cruz. Forging relationships within our community has been a basis of our connection with the public.
The center is a member of the chamber of commerce, offers free programs at their center and through city libraries, and supports schools and local organizations at each opportunity.
To reach beyond the boundaries of 1:1 direct services, we designed a program to provide professional training and consultation to licensed psychotherapists to ensure a high standard of training in TEAM-CBT, an approach that recognizes the challenges that nearly all individuals experience on the way to change. The 2-year professional training program enriches the skills of professionals to work more effectively with clients.
Feeling Good Wellness Center was established to promote the quality of psychotherapy delivered to clients. Our clinicians offer their rigorous training, years of clinical experience, and personal compassion to clients at our center.
Because the center is committed to education, therapists here continue to hone their skills in training and consultation, and they participate in outreach through mental health activities in the community. We are dedicated to serving our clients using an evidence-based practice and making our services accessible.
When the center opened its doors for the first time in 2014, its mission was to spread high-quality psychotherapy to everyone. That’s because Dr. Dashtban, the founder of the center, believes that access to high-quality mental health services is not a privilege, it’s a right.
Feeling Good Wellness Center offers the type of therapy that is based on the research and findings of Stanford Professor Emeritus Dr. David Burns, author of several bestseller self-help books, including Feeling Good The New Mood Therapy.
The name of this type of therapy is TEAM-CBT, which is based on the idea that one can change the way one feels by changing one’s outlook, one minute at a time.
TEAM-CBT is an evidence-based and highly structured style of therapy in which patients receive a strong sense of empathy as well as a highly skillful way of overcoming their emotional and psychological issues with the help of techniques and tools specifically assigned to them.
